The Institute
An independent technical library and education platform for the people who design, specify, and depend on physical perimeter protection.
The National Perimeter Security Institute exists to give architects, engineers, security contractors, and end-users — including DOD, CISA-regulated, and commercial facilities — unfiltered facts, testing standards, and engineering specification tools for physical perimeter protection: vehicle crash barriers, anti-ram bollards, high-security fencing, gates, and intrusion detection.
The physical security industry is flooded with misleading manufacturer marketing. Companies self-test barriers, omit payload penetration distances, and obscure the difference between retired Department of State K-ratings and the modern ASTM F2656 standard. The people writing specifications and protecting facilities carry the consequences of those omissions. NPSI publishes the underlying facts so a specifier never has to take a brochure's word for a life-safety decision.
